Lake Norman is located at the northern most part of Mecklenburg County, it is around 10 to 12 miles outside the Charlotte, NC city limits. The Lake Norman area is comprised of several towns and cities, including Cornelius, Huntersville, Charlotte, Mooresville, Davidson, Concord, Kannapolis, Statesville, Troutman, Denver, and Lincolnton. These cities and towns reside in the following counties Mecklenburg, Iredell, Lincoln, Cabarrus, Rowan, Catawba, and Gaston. The Charlotte area is located vary conveniently between the mountains (around a 2 hour drive) and the beach (around a 4 hour drive). Charlotte, NC is one of the banking capitals of the US, and the Lake Norman area has grown due to this fact. Lake Norman is a beautiful lake which boaters, swimmers, skiers, and fisherman all enjoy. Plenty of access points for the boater to enter the lake and enjoy the sun. In recent years, Lake Norman Area Real Estate has become an increasingly popular place to invest and live, because of the beauty of the Lake and natural beauty of the landscape, thriving economy, exciting growth in nightlife, rich history and beautiful weather. Although Charlotte has grown into a major metropolitan area it still maintains its small town roots and extends that into the surrounding areas, including the Lake Norman area where friendliness is abound.
